The Xtra Diary: Skidding seagulls in Little Venice

Little Venice

Published: 27 January, 2017

SEAGULLS skidded on the slippy surface of Little Venice at the weekend, as the picturesque little island became surrounded by floating sheets of ice.

As temperatures hit zero, the waters froze over, leaving boaters in a tricky spot. What is a continuous cruiser to do?

Some resorted to breaking the frozen surface by any means necessary to continue their journey, leaving bits of broken ice in their paths. The sun shone down as the cold nipped at the fingers and toes, and everyone tried their best not to fall in from the slippery edge, on this fine, yet frosty winter morning. Some might say, it was Little Venice at its finest.
