LETTERS: I’m fed up with the privileges extended to cyclists

Published: 27 January, 2017

• I NEVER learnt to ride a bike but, as a former motorist and a (now rather slow-moving) pedestrian, I really am getting fed up of the privileges extended to cyclists.

Many times when on pedestrian crossings I’ve nearly been hit by cyclists who seem to think red lights don’t apply to them.

I have even heard of cyclists who genuinely believe they are not required to stop at red lights.

I have frequently been alarmed by pavement riders and I support those who say it’s illegal and should always be treated as such.
